I received some recent correspondence asking me why I had not let my constituents know the town of Camillus was considering the co-sponsorship of a YMCA and it was going to go in Camillus Park.
My answer to them was I didn’t tell them because it isn’t true.
Upon some investigation I found out the source of the incorrect information and had a meeting with one of the members of the group who are promoting bringing a YMCA/Community Center into Camillus.
This group is not affiliated with the Town of Camillus or its board. They have come before our Town Board to promote their cause but there was no approval or agreement that we would be involved in its sponsorship.

Registration for the 2010 Pop Warner season is set for Saturday June 19th and Sunday June 20th from 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM at Shove Park.

Highlights include:
* Registration for Summer Day camp starts June 1.
* Gillie Lake Beach : Open June 5, 6, June 12, 13, June 19 – August 15
* Opening of the Outdoor pool has yet to be determined, but there will be a Learn To Swim Program and Swin Clubs at the West Genesee High School Pool/
* Programs include; Runners Camp, Colorguard, Vollyball, Lax Leagues, Basketball, Pee Wee Wretling and more.

The Camillus Country Club Tuesday Evening 9 hole Women’s League is looking for a few more players. Joining is open to the public and starts Tues May 11th with Tee off from 5:00 – 6:00. For more info, call the Pro shop at 672-3770.
